Day 30 Owl's Domain
My interpretation for the 30th word of Tritober 2020, 'Owl'. A sinister looking owl perched upon a possessed mushroom.
QUESTION. Where is the squirrel today? 😉
Another rush job I'm not entirely happy with... I admit I was lazy, but also didn't have enough confidence due to low energy. I'm sad, as this was a good prompt, but by now, I'm having to admit that I'm running out of steam.
I wanted to make this spectacular, but I suppose I didn't put in the work required to make it so, but I have to accept that.
With Tomorrows piece, I'm aiming for a big bang to end Inktober on as it is the very last set of prompts. It's going to be special if I have anything to push myself towards - which I do. I just have to learn to plan and use my time wisely.

My interpretation for the 26th word of Tritober 2020, 'Expanding'. A group of goblin like creatures running away from a huge expanding rabbit.

Ok, so this is god awful because I just know that this will give some people nightmares. 😂 Please forgive me, as this is the ONLY way I could combine the words "Expanding" and "Hide" together on my less than inspired, knackered brain.
So, the "Hide" part has a double meaning in this one. To Run and hide is one interpretation, but also the hide of an animal, hence the rabbit (hide) expanding.
...I know it's still awful, but tough. Deal with it. 😂
Tommorow's word combo is looking better though, they fit like a hand in a glove, so hopefully I'll do better with that entry.

Day 23 Terra Haul
My interpretation for the 23rd word of Tritober 2020, 'Haul'. A land bird ripping through the page and clutching a gold nugget.

I think I pulled through with this one by being persistent. I finished it way before uploading it here now, but I was lazy and have posted this almost last minute.
I now have a bad and careless attitude towards Inktober which I really need to fix. Part of me wishes it would have ended by now, but nonetheless, I tried my best. For this one, I chose the concept of a bird tearing away at a wall (to match Inktober's "Rip") whilst finding a gold nugget in the process.
The composition was the easiest part, the hardest part was having the patience to create the bird and make added details, as, aside from a small amount of reference, this bird is completely made up! I had to use my imagination here. Also, making a convincing enough ripped wall effect was quite difficult. It's not perfect, but at this stage, I need to manage my time well, so faffing about that will do no good.

I thoroughly hate this entry, it's my weakest by far.
The prompts today were horrible and I'm cutting this fine, but I tried my best. I tried to draw a quad outpost with the main building in the shape of a crocodiles head, but I didn't even get time to finish this the way I wanted to, and it's better to be late with rubbish than to never post it. That's the spirit of this challenge.
Ahh, I think stress got to me today, but that's life for you.

Day 10 Noble Hope
My interpretation for the 10th word of Tritober 2020, 'Aristocratic'. A lady aristocrat enjoying a peaceful time beside the view of a dark forest.
QUESTION. Where is the Squirrel today? 😉 🐿
Just why? Why did I even think that this was a good idea? 😢
I wanted to portray an aristocratic lady in a seperate picture plane, holding a cup elegantly whilst enjoying the brighter side of a dark place (to represent that I'm not going to let 2020 or anything bad get in the way of me)... instead, in a bitter sense of tragic irony, I end up botching this piece because I lost hope! 😰
I have to admit that this was too ambitious and I bit off more than I could chew. Need I go on? I'm running out of time anyway...

Day 6 Rodent Stone
My interpretation for the 6th word of Tritober 2020, 'Statue'. A literal statue of a squirrel.
Well, as this is an ode to our legendary friend, there is no "spot the squirrel" competition today. 😂
I... actually don't like this, I think it's my weakest entry yet. I had such high hopes for this to be great, but at least I gave it a go, right?
So my method was to sculpt a plasticine squirrel statue as a base to draw from reference. Unfortunately, there were just too many distractions today, and so I don't think that was the best plan of attack. It took ages of concentration just for the sculpture, let alone taking a photograph of it, and drawing from it.
I think if I'm ever going to do that again, I'll do it when I know I have lots of free time so I won't fuss over or stress out about it.
